Title: Bleeding brakes

Been a while since I bled brakes, especially rears!  Remind me...handbrake on...or off...

i dont think it matters mate  i did my brother in laws corsa the other week with the hand brake on

you mean you hope it doesnt matter cos you done it with the handbrake on!!!!

Do you have to also do the slave  cylinder too..or will that be ok...

Don't think it matters about the handbrake as its mechanical not hydraulic. I did a fluid change on mine last week, just did the calipers and the 2 on the side of the master cylinder.

just dont let your MC run dry like i did lol, think i got air into the ABS pump, i just bled mine a good few times after changing the rear pads and still had air in them. need vag com to cycle the pump as you open nipples etc.
It does say to do the clutch at the same time as it shares the same fluid tho.
pressure bleeding is recommended.

An eezibleed will make your life easier too, £20 from halfords, around half that with a trade card. It's a power-bleeder that uses air pressure from a tyre.

Thanks.. Might douse that nipple with WD40..so do not like the look of it lol!! Wouldn't want that to snap  :undecided:

in all fairness i didnt even bleed it lol, i went to crack it n didnt like the look of it so left it alone, another job to get to at some point  :laugh:

Was the clutch ok?? Bear in mind my brake pipe snapped..replaced now, but air is most probably in the system

it seems ok n havnt had any problems with it  (touch wood), still gna do it at some point tho, might as well try it while your at it, i just didnt want another headache lol.

Nah the new pipe union leaked... :angry: used a ECP one tho.

Gonna try a OEM one though see how it goes...if that don't work...I'll scrap it haha
