£1000 for the engine & seats or full car? :lipsrsealed:
-
Why spend £1200 on the engine rebuild then sell the car which looks a complete shed tbh.

Not a lot

Think the the mk3 have bigger lift, or bigger duration. Can't remember been a while since I last read about standard abf cams
-
Which means the mk2 cams would effectively de-tune it. :undecided:
-
So u think its not worth it? Still quite a bit of cash
-
Kr cams in an abf is a detune... The abf have a higher lift and longer duration... Now if this was a kr with abf cams different story... I'm afraid on that basis for me it brings the whole rebuild into question... If you can overlook the duration & lift of cams... What else can u miss....
-
Exactly, sounds like a botch job inside a piece of sh!t shell to me.
-
I don't really trust stuff like that unless its got a receipt from a known company when I bought my golf the owner was a mechanic and he had been stamping the service book when I go to change my fuel filter it was rusted as hell he never changed it but still stamped it
-
I would wary of fitting high lift cams...you can only go to approx 256/260 degree cams before the
management system throws a wobbly.
So assuming the came are 256/260s, look at the lift - if there is a bit gain in lift, you may be OK...but if
you are keeping the lambda sensor and Cat, and want it to be legal, it's a minefield when fitting came to an
ABF.
Assuming you do get cams to run, all you will do is move the torque up the rev range...you will get more
power, but lose low end torque.
Some of the aftermarket cams are designed for KR or ABF and in reality, aren't much more aggressive than
standard ABF cams...so an utter waste of money. That the sound advice I have been given

Not like the AGG 286 in mine
