Title: Bonnet pull thingy

Bonnet release has been fine till now .i. Tried to open bonnet and when i pull the handle it dont open i can hear something moving near the front vw badge .ive taken the handle offand tried pulling the metal wire but still wont en any help appreciated

Coat hanger and pull cable normally does the trick unles the bonnet latch cable is snapped. Get car on ramp and try getting at the latch from under the car :undecided:

You have stretched the cable, mine did it. Its a piece of piss to change but you wont be able to open it from the drivers side footwell. Like said you will have to put it on a jack/stand and get to it from the underside - make sure you let the engine cool down FULLY otherwise you will be in for a nasty burn....."my mate" did it  :whistle:

Get a new cable from vw for a score and then open the bonnet, attach and refeed. Job done!

I can hear it moving wheni pull cable. Would I be able to brake grill and sort it that way I have a spare

Quick update ive managed to open bonnet i put a very longand thin screwdriver under bonnet just above vw sign and slid it from side to side and it popped open now looking at the cable it had slid out of a little square stopper thing.and theres something missing off cable near locking mechanism when u pull cable 2 things should squeeze together and there not. Will i have to buy the whole cable ?cheers guys
