Title: changing car battery

my battery is nackered, ive just been and got a replacement but i see theres like a pack of wires on the top of the old battery,
now do i need to know anything before removing it? will i loose any codes or anything? thankyou

when you disconnect your battery you'll have to reset anything non standard to the car, shouldnt throw up any new codes but advise clearing any codes currently stored, change batts over and reread. the wires on top are part of the fusebox, this should be removed quite easily, couple of bolts, dont forget to remove the negative first and keep it away from body work and metal  :whistle:

my car is standard. i was worried about radio codes (original radio), Immobiliser and stuff like that, i have got a code reader to delete any engine codes.

your radio code is stored on ecu to so wont lose that  :smiley:
