Hi,
have just been for a test drive in a Mk4 Gti 1.8 Turbo. 51 plate, silver, 2 door, alloys, 21,000 original miles, fvwsh, 3rd headrest and seatbelt, usual electical bits. A/C, single CD etc.
It is absolutely immaculate. Really nice to drive, full MOT.
They want £9500, I am tempted but didnt want to shell out for something that wouldnt be worth it. (I think i can get it for £9000)
Any advice appreciated.

too difficult to put a price on a car these days, some one will say 'too dear' some one will say 'bargin' lol, look on autotrader website for similar cars and see hwats selling for what price, you can try parkers for a price guide but sometimes i wonder where they get there prices from!!!!
just put the details in this price guide thing on autotrader......have a look at this link and see what you think

£9000 sounds like a great deal to me
-
It is absolutely gleaming so I am tempted,
I have just searched autotrader and the VW dealer search engine and there are more 1.8t's out there for similar money but quite a bit higher mileage.
£9000 is a lot of money, I keep thinking about would I prefer the 2.3 v5 or even a beetle 1.8t/2.3 as they are the same sort of money.
-
go with the golf, beetles are nice but a bit 'armchairish' lol

-
Don't get the beetle, it's a bit girly IMO. The golf sounds like a good deal cois of the low mileage
-
LOL @ armchairish    can you expand on that LOL
I always thought the beetle a girls car, and was prob right, but more and more blerks are driving them now.
Golf in drag????
Really cant make mind up, am going for drive in 2.3 tomorrow so that will solve it. The golf 1.8t i drove today wasnt as fast as I thought it was gonna be.
I hate this parting with money stuff and desicion making.  It would be better if the insurance was mental but its not, £320 fully comp protected.
Help me :undecided:

1.8t with a revo upgrade etc
-
Yeah, thought of upgrades and mods etc but will have to be standard for a while till funds are built up again,
also it means selling my bike  and Mk3 golf
Do upgrades like the revo make that much difference? I know they do on paper but in your experience is it worth the expense?
-
The 1.8t is bulletproof, don't let the mileage put you off, but then again it is nice to have a mint low miler!!
-
I think on the newer 1.8t you'll be looking at 212bhp wit the revo etc
