Anyone any idea when the new GTD brochure will be available to download from the VW website?
-
GTI brochure subject has just posted
Just had it confirmed with VW UK that the pdf brochure for the GTI should be available by the end of this week via the website. Last minute additions apparently. Will be interesting to see the final and official spec for eg. colour display as standard or not.
Therefore one presumes that the brochure will follow previous formats and be for both the GTD and GTI!
-
Its Friday - No sign of the GTD brochure yet - come on VW!

I second that!!!
Keep your promise Herr V. W. Golf

I just called customer services, and apparently the brochure is out... She took my details and is sending me one through, but she couldn't say when I'd get it, and didn't know about the PDF version. All I can suggest is keep checking the link, and also check with your local retailer. I'm popping in tomorrow to drop something off so will ask then.

Saturday and still no brochure

Saturday afternoon and still no brochure...

wish VW would pull their finger out as Mrs W is nagging me about it now :lipsrsealed:

You told your wife??
That's why I went for the same colour, hopefully she won't notice.

Mrs W wants a mk7 GTI not me

Another girl with style.

Just this minute tried to download the brochure and still nothing
Tell me how VW UK can launch a new GDT/GTI range and not publish the brochure to go with it? It's not like they've gotta print it or ought. All they've gotta do is upload a PDF for us to peruse.
Just think how many potential optional extras they'll miss out on selling to people as folks couldn't refer to a UK spec brochure. I know there is the price list but just how accurate is it (follow the colour screen fiasco).
Come on VW UK get your act together.
Rant...... over

I was playing around with the Configurator app yesterday, and wondered if it actually reflects the full range of options likely to be on offer.

The price list will be the one that tells you what options are available hence you can already see it, the brochure is only for dribbling on!!

Brilliant

Price list is now available to download:
http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/assets/common/pdf/pricelists/golf-gti-vii-pricelist.pdf
Still no brochure, but at least this confirms specs and options.
-
That price list has been up for a few weeks now. Still says that the Colour MFD is a £135 option which according to many people on the forum have been told by dealers and VW UK it's standard fitment on UK GTI / GTD models.
-
I notice the image on the configurator now has the ADC radar in the front. :( And the trim pieces are missing from the rear window!! >:(

Ah yes I though t they looked cool lol
-
Brochure (for the gti at least) appears to be up on the mobile site but not the desktop version:

Enjoy!
-
Just been on the main site. When you initiate brochure download its just the GTI brochure NOT one for the GTD specific. What are they playing at?
-
Usual marketing rubbish

The rear spoiler trim pieces are shown in the brochure. :undecided:

I tweeted VW UK help on Twitter earlier in the week to see when the GTD brochure would be available?
No definitive answer came back, they just said keep trying the website. At the moment the Configurator on the VW website is down totally, so at last are they updating it and sorting all their niggles out? One can only hope!
-
I also Tweeted @VWUKHelp yesterday to ask when the GTD brochure will be published on their website.
Here is their response:
"We're working on the GTD brochure. We'll upload it to the website as soon as we can. Ask us any questions, we'll try and help"
What on earth is the delay? Photography, copywriting, verifying UK specification? Be good to know.
Let's keep tweeting them to let VW know our frustration, maybe then we'll get a sound response.
-
To tide you over, you could have a look at the German GTD brochure:
http://www.volkswagen.de/content/medialib/vwd4/de/dialog/pdf/GolfGTD/katalog_golf-gtd/_jcr_content/renditions/rendition.download_attachment.file/katalog_golf-gtd.pdf
Surely the UK one can't be that hard to produce, assuming that the specs are broadly aligned.... Maybe they are waiting until MY14.
-
Problem is the UK GTI and the German GTD brochures don't actually list any of the standard equipment, so pretty pointless really unless you like looking at photos we've all seen a million times now.

Just noticed there's no ADC radar on the GTD featured in the German PDF brochure?
Might be nothing, might be something
-
Right, fair play to VW customer services, as they promised me last week they would call be back over my query, and sure enough today they did.
What they are telling me is that the GTD will not have it's own brochure, but instead will be incorporated into the standard MK7 Golf brochure, with just the GTi being kept separate. He tells me this information came direct from VW marketing, and will coincide with the relaunch of the MK7 brochure in late May / early June to coincide with the MY14 updates.
Also, as a side issue, they have now 100% confirmed, that the Dynaudio not only comes with a Sub in the boot, but that it fits into the space saver spare wheel (as per the new Audi A3), and therefore you still get a spare not a silly can of puncture foam that ruins your tyre. Happy days !!!
-
Thanks for the update.
I think it's fairly poor that VW haven't managed to prepare adequately for two of their flagship models within the range.
Plus, it's just really annoying me that I cant study what I've ordered

I too feel its p*ss poor that VW aren't going to produce a UK specific brochure for the GTD. It is one of their flagship models after all. As you can see from the link posted above there was a German one produced back in February. At the very least all they'd have to do is translate the text to English and publish. How hard can that be eh.
Given @UKVolkswagen 's twitter response to me yesterday I still have a sneaking suspicion they'll produce one despite Norbreck's response [no offence].

I agree that it would seem strange to incorporate it within the other MK7 range, but similarly, from a marketing viewpoint, i'd find it very strange for a company such as VW not to have all brochures and specifications agreed well in advance of orders being taken! :embarrassed:

To be fair, given that they are deciding to hold GTI orders in stasis so they can be updated to MY14 specification, I'm sure a lot of meetings and decisions have taken place that justify the lack of information and confusion. Not saying I'm happy with it, but I guess it should mean we get something a bit more special than originally planned.

Oh well the GTD has been reduced to run of the mill brochure. I still have my mk6 GTI/GTD brochure.

Hi mate can you point me in the right direction. Just downloaded it from the GTI section and it's the same one I saw 7 weeks ago.
-
I picked up a specific GTD brochure and price list from my dealer on Saturday, so they are out there.
-
Hey, hey, hey - 2 months after I started this thread VW have finally uploaded the GTD Brochure!
It looks the business - roll on delivery of my Carbon Grey model in September!!!

Tech spec in there doesn't differentiate between 3 and 5 doors for DSG emissions and therefore tax disc class. Looks like the 5 door DSGers might scrape in for a £30 tax disc instead of a £105 one after all after year 1.
All reference to the VW mobility guarantee seems to have disappeared from UK brochure literature. IS it still a live scheme here in the UK. For those that may not know what i'm on about, VW do (or did) provide a mobility guarantee, so that if your VW breaks down they will recover it beyond year 1 if you get your car serviced at a dealership. Exclusions are non warrantied issues such as puncture, running out of fuel (unless there's a leak) or incorrect fuelling.

On close inspection it does - check the small print [122] i.e. co2 for 5 door dsg.

Are you guys on about the one on this page:
http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/new/golf-gti-vii/which-model/brochures
-
OF1: Go to the GTI/GTD page, then "download brochures" and pick the GTI brochure. The 2nd half of the GTI brochure is all GTD.

Thanks, that's what I was clarifying as it's been there for quite a while!
-
Hear's a thought, why didn't they just make two brochures? One for GTI and one for GTD to save the customers confusion.
Sarcasm intended!
-
The brochure and price list I picked up at the weekend was GTD only.
