can anyone tel me is the  312mm brakes from mk4 golf is a straight fit onto a mk3 gti 16v model

Nope!

You need the carriers and disc then use the 288 caliper and a 6mm spacer I believe

u can use the 312 calliper too, thats what i did but you will need to change the lines too

If your gonna do it then use the caliper.

Yes they fit just need 6mm spacer and customs lines.

At a metal shop. Make a template and ask them to cut them out. And a local hardware shop. I got a shop near me called powerdrive that have hundreds of different types and strength bolts.

We made our own spacers out of stainless steel, use Super high Tensile bolts, cant remember length etc but i got them on ebay for a few quid, i prob still;l have them in my saved list from when i did mine a couple of year ago

one last thing to add, if you cut off the brake pad sensors and whack them in, the CEL goes away.
