Title: Exhaust gaskets
Post by: Logie on 02 August 2005, 16:02
Right, having looked at the exhaust on my MKII GTI its looks liek a right bastard of a job to replace the exhaust gaskets

On my AX it was simple. Undo the knuckle joint (Where the downpipe meets the rest of the system). Then under the bolts on the head and off comes the manifold.

On the Golf, i cant see it beening that easy?

Do i have to take off the inlet? Or can this all be done underthe car. Looks a pain if a nut rounds off etc too :/

gasket at the head? or between the downpipe and manifold? if its the head its a right bastard to do but every time i've done it i've had the head off anyway.
