Title: Need advice on a engine swap nothing to big.
Post by: search on 06 April 2013, 21:00
would i need anything else to put one of these engines in a golf mk2 1.3? its pretty much the same engine as mine just not carb (aka headache.) people tell me to buy a weber but wouldn't i be better off if i just put something like this in instead? the reason i'm not looking at vr6 engines is because i'm being realistic for my situation, plus i won't have to declare it as it looks just like the one already in my car. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-polo-golf-1-4-engine-1997-model-/321100939875?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4ac31b8263

What would be the point for so little gain and as for not declaring it

Me best mate ran a 1.4 16v on bike carbs in his mk2 and it went like stink!

This engines just an 8v though? Wouldn't bother with swapping in an 8v.
