Have changed 1 H7 blub on the car but am unsure what the other 2 bulbs in the same housing unit are? w5w and H7?
I want to change the yellow look. The H7 100w ones I have are ace.
Are the H7 also to be used for the fog lights?
-
The Main beam/DRL is a H15 and there is not yet a 'white' replacement, Autobulbs are working on one at the present.
See thread below:

The sidelight is a W5W bulbs and there are whiter bulbs available.
The fog light bulb is I think a H8 bulb

Oh right well I have got in my hand H7 100W and have putted it to the outter bulb (not the area with 2 bulbs in 1) sorry not that technical. H7 55W came out of the area
-
What are the blubs that are always on when you start the car (day running ones) I need to replace those but cannot get my hand in there to check.
Also is there a link how to change the bulb in the wing mirrors...i have the LEDs just cant find a guide?

You have to remove the mirror by prizing it off which can be a bit daunting.
Here is a link to how you get into the mirror housing.

I'd be wary about fitting 100W bulbs as the current draw may be a bit too much for the threadlike wiring and Can-Bus.
-
Better to use 55 watt Osram Nightbreakers or Phillips, rather than 100 watt bulbs. The Day running Lights are combined bulb with high beam and are H15 fitment. There are no better replacements for them at present.
-
Is it the same fitment as the other bulb H7 (day time running light area)? It looks it from outside the headlight but haven't taken it out yet

No, as the others have said before, it's a H15 and no one makes an upgrade for it...yet.

Ok so the brand osram is whiter? Just what I have is yellowish standard look from factory.
221117215102 this one ok and this goes in the same where w5w goes?
-
Osram Nightbreakers are whiter than standard, but don't expect them to be as crisp as xenons.
I've heard very good things about Mtec bulbs http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/categories/mtec-bulbs

First picture I used H7 100w ice halogen white bulb. That wrong?
Second picture is what I am talking about!!! Which bulb on the website? Sorry to be a pest/prat
-
The second pic is just 501 parking lights, not the Mk6's DRL/Main beam.
-
501 w5w yes I have the side light for that but there are two bulbs within the second pic for mk6 and I am after the larger bulb which I have ordered the h15 bulb from the website? That wrong? If so what actual number do I need for the larger bulb in the second picture?
-
You've also got to remember that 100w bulbs are illegal for road use in the UK! IIRC 55w is the top limit.
As Dubber has also mentioned, the current draw will be far in excess of standard 55w bulbs and you run the risk of either/and burning out the wiring to the bulbs/melting the plastic of the surrounding headlamp!

H15 is the DRL/Main beam bulb (large one). Although there is no whiter halogen replacement available for this.
W5W is the sidelight bulb.
H7 is the dipped beam bulb.
