Title: N75 valves questions
Post by: welshdean on 05 April 2013, 23:05
I've been asking someone questions about there 1.8 T
They told me that vag com showed the n75 mid reading

They then said they replaced it and I asked what we're the problems he was experiencing
And this is what he said...

The car wasn't boosting correctly and it was ranging from 5psi - 12psi and anywhere inbetween. Since replacing it, it now stays at 9 psi but claims it could be down to the forge tip, green panel filter and car back exhaust.

My question to you all is....

Does this sound correct as I've looked on the net and it tells me that the standard is 7 psi.
Or does something not sound right ?

Please help as I'm very interested in this car

is it an AUM or AUQ?

9-10psi is what mine is holding on a standard AUQ map which is normal iirc.

see if specified vs actual boost can be checked on vag com, sounds ok though if it's holding boost across the rev range.

My ecu doesn't read actual vs requested boost as its only a me3.5 so it shows injection timing as actual vs specified but everything on vag com was meeting requested bud

well i just drove down to basingstoke andback with a nice little goodey

if you put your foot down it should peak at about 12 then lefel off to about 6-7 and when cruising at 70 should be on 0 mark, if its holding that amount of boost then thats awesome, ask him to lift the engine cover to check the code ,should be on a little silver ledge close the carbon canister and whilst your at it check for any oil marks etc, be a good indication that theres a loose vac pipe etc

I'm the owner, I replaced the valve got it on vag com and all is good again, as I mentioned above My ecu doesn't read actual vs requested boost its only a me3.5 model ecu so it shows injection timing as actual vs specified but everything on vag com was meeting requested, oh and it's an agu,
