Title: Help needed, injector problem
Post by: squirrel86 on 05 April 2013, 22:35
Hi all after some help please, I've got a AGU and have seen many people have fitted Saab red injectors, well I have also purchased Saab reds and after having them given the all clear I decided to fit them tonight into my manifold. They fitted fine in the fuel rail, but when I came to fit it into my manifold I came across a problem, they are to big, so I removed the large allen key holder situated in the manifold and re-tried again, with no joy. Basically what I would like to know is, what is the trick? Is there something else that I need to buy for them to fit? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Firstly are they gonna be mapped in?

Why are you replacing them with reds?

Yes it will be having a custom map, as I'm fitting a lot of uprated parts, I.e. 4bar fpr, front mount intercooler, uprated fuel pump, larger maf.

I've gone for Saab reds as I've seen on here a fair few people have done it and I'm hoping for more power and torque, so thought this would be the best option. If you have any other ideas be greatly appreciated lol.

Thought Saab reds were for AUM only?
Normally people go for Calibra yellows, but again not sure if these are AUM only

Do you have the part number of the injectors?

Calibra yellows are the ones for agu but still you don't to be fitting them Without a map.
You need to get the guys who are doing your map to fit them and map it straight away

I'm fitting a few mods then its getting trailed to the mapping place as I don't want to cause any damage. I will try uploading pics of the injectors I've got now.

So can you point me in the right direction then please? I've got a vr6 3inch MAF so any ideas on what injectors I will need or can I run the standard injectors?

with the vr6 maf your gonna need bigger injectors. The calibra yellow injectors should do the job if your sticking with a Ko3.

Its a ko3s I've got, would calibra yellows still be ok?

Yeah mate, yellows would still be fine, bear in mind your gonna have to get it all mapped in too, hopefully your standard fuel pump is ok. You may also need a 3 bar fpr. Speak to the guys who are gonna be doing your map to find out exactly what you need.
And for future reference, the agu manifold is EV6 fitment.
