Title: Euro Car Parts or GSF?
Post by: Jumbojim on 05 April 2013, 09:57
Gentlemen

I need to purchase a Timing /Cam belt replacement kit (belt, water pump and idlers) for a 20tfsi engine.
Euro charges about £150 but GSF only wants £105, some difference.
Does anyone know if the GSF kits are poorer quality, or is Euro charging too much?

Taking into consideration the 20% forum Discount you get with Euro Car Parts the difference is now £15.

I'd go for GSF, I've used them before. Also find out what make they are. Gates timing belt are O.E quality.

I get all my bits through my vw specialist who gets them from TPS. Some TPS sell to the public others including my local wont

TPS/VW timing belt kits also tend to carry a 3 year warranty, something you may want to consider

Thanks for your advice Gentlemen, I bought the GATES BELT plus WATER PUMP and IDLERS from eBay for £126.  Now I have just got to fit them!
