Ok so I've sorted out my sump, but now my clutch is starting to slip through 4th and 5th. The pedal is quite stiff but not extremely hard.
Somebody mentioned bleeding the clutch fluid or something like that.
Can anybody shed some light on this please
-
A gently bump
-
I think the brake fluid reservoir is a feed for the clutch as well. Perhaps an entire fluid change may help? :undecided:
-
Could air in the fluid cause a slipping clutch
-
I its slipping your friction plate is either contaminated or worn to rivets. Or pressure plate springs have weakened. Air in the system causes a low pedal and difficulty selecting gears. Sorry dude.... Clutch time!!

Bollocks, I'm sick of this 2.0 gti.....
Lesson learnt, never buy a 2.0 gti again
-
cut your loses, buy the AUQ engine on classifieds, it will be cheaper for you

Is that the red one mate ?
-
My mistake, I just checked. It's not the red one I was thinking of but if it's the right one your on about, it's way too much out of my price range. I've only got upto 1800 max for the right car

My main problem is... I keep trying to make her well again

Dean honestly mate stop spending money and save for a 1.8t
-
I am mate, I've got money for a different car at the end of the month. But I still need to use this in the meantime mate. And it's too good to scrap and it won't sell with a slipping clutch .
-
:( sell it cheap to get rid mate :)

I miss my old 2.0, Far more reliable than my LCR has been,
Ive spent more money on my LCR in 2 months ownership than I spent on my 2.0 mk4 in 3 years.
Granted, they aren't very fast but mine was ultra reliable, very smooth and drove over speed bumps like a monster truck. Very boring though.
