Title: vr6 engine

Ive just brought a mint Mk3 vr6 golf with 95k and full service history it goes like the clappers and drives very well its mint, but theres a slight ticking noise from the engine does anyone know what this is

ticking noises....... could be one of many things, from a knacked hydrualic tappet to a worn/slack timing chain.......

im getting one of these me self in a few weeks and have been trying to find out what to look for engine wise.
