Being as you can not choose both the above would it be the wheels or sunroof ?
-
I've been having the same dilemma! In the end I went with the sunroof with the thought that alloys could be changed later.... And also 19" wheels (supposedly) have a harder ride.
Depends a lot on colour though - the main appeal for me of the sunroof is the black effect it has on the roof. If you have a dark colour though it's perhaps less appealing.

Gotta be the roof for me mate, i don't like the 19" options tbh and they'll be a b!tch to clean!
-
Pan Roof for me...
-
Is the black on the pan roof, the whole roof or just the part the sunroof is on?
-
It's about 60% of the roof.
-
I voted for the roof too. As I said in another thread, you can fit whatever wheels you want at a later date.
-
I love the roof but i've gone with wheels as i'm not that keen on the 18's (might look great in the flesh tho) as the 19's transform the look of the car more than the roof and if you like oem wheel them 19's will be hard to source and cost the earth if you do find any.
-
On UK roads it has to be the sunroof - you'll be wrecking the wheel or the tyre if you hit a pothole, although ACC in comfort mode would soften the blow when you hit one.
-
Wheels here .. I never use sunroofs anymore since aircon became standard and I just think of them as something to go wrong now (rattle, leak, wind noise, extra weight)
-
Easy decision...sunroof, although I wouldn't have either in all honesty! I like a nice dark cabin!
-
Stupid question but why can't you order the roof and the 19's together?

who knows, all we know is you can not have both :undecided:

Thought it was a weight issue? It was with the mk6

Yep thinks you hit the nail on the head there lass...
-
Sunroof for me as said harsh ride on our roads
-
19"s all the way, the roof makes the car look like a 1970's pram when it's open
-
extra weight of roof and 19's takes you into a new road tax bracket that VW don't want you in.
-
I was in the same dilemma but plumped for wheels as not sure roof looked so good on a 5 door ( on the 3 door it looks fab though ) also wanted my car to look a bit different to ( some ) other GTi s
Taking delivery next Thursday so getting a bit excited now too i was going to wait until Sept but having it early As going away early sept
-
Neither,
The 19" wheels are way too expensive when you consider the car already has a set of 18" wheels and look very similar to the GTD wheels.
The Roof is better value for money when you look at the technology you are getting, but I had a Panoramic roof in a Civic before and found it was of no benefit at all, as it starts behind your head, its great if you sit in the back though.
For £900 I can tax the car for 45 years.
-
Sunroof as you can change the wheels yourself but cant add a sunroof. Agree with the neither though. Pocket the cash.
-
19's all the way
the ride is surprisingly good and dare I say better than my mk6 on 18's. hmmmm
However they are a pig to keep clean, but then again a 5 foot piece of glass on the roof will say clean me every time you walk to the car !!!

Unless you have ordered white the pano roof is pointless imo. Won't stand out enough. The 19" are nice but I actually think the alloys featured in the accessories brochure are nicer
