Title: what map???
Post by: dodger on 01 April 2013, 17:56
Hi guys in new to the forum and hoping to get some advice, i own a mk4 agu that ive had for a few months now and in so bored of the standard power. Ive put on a turbo back miltek system with a decat, forge 007p with green spring and im fitting a forge front mount on the weekend. Ive been doing some research into what map to choose but i am still stuck over what to choose. My mate has a mk4 agu with a custom code map that's 201bhp but it doesn't feel quick. My choice of mapper is and in Essex as i live 10mins down the road and all they offer is there own map or a revo. I want the car for more motorway driving not racing of the lights. Could anyone give me advice on these two maps or should i look elsewhere? Thanks

Sorry to say but with your standard turbo your only going to see 190bhp/200bhp at the wry max no matter what mods you do.
So if you want it quicker the. Your mates you need to put a k03s on it.
Always I for a custom map generic maps (revo) aren't as good and tend to be more expensive

I only like the revo as it seems quite brutal power delivery where as the AMD is smooth. What other things should i check or change on the car before it gets mapped?

You wanna do some researching using the search function as all the bits hve been covered many times.
But generally the cars health including boost leaks and faulty electric sensors get it scanned on vcds etc
A good service so Fresh oil, plugs, clean the filter etc ect
