Title: Wobbly gear stick

My gti 8v gear stick occasionaly wobbles when in gear,no problems getting into gear and doesnt pop out of gears, any ideas?

Only thing i can think off is to check gearbox mount for play as it could be vibrating the gear linkage and shake the lever unless anyone else can think off something i havent personally experianced this prob but its worth checkin

The nylon ball at the base of the shifter wears out, also the orange bush that the shifter rod passes through at the front of the shift tower.

If its wobbliness you're after try a 16v!

My 8v was like a rowing boat  :laugh: was a lottery to get the right gears,all sorted now  :cool:

8v gear shift linkages are so much easier than 16v's to make decent though.
