Hi i was just wondering if anyone has any diy advice for laquer peel on my bonnet it has a little stone chip init which had resulted on surface rust i could kurust that and paint dragon green over it i was just wondering about the laqueer peel ill be using spray cans is it worth fixing as i dont want a green orange peeled bonnet thanks
-
You need to sand it down flat, or do it lightly and use high build primer then wet dry sand it flat and smooth. Then paint and lacquer. If it orange peel then wet dry sand that, then machine polish.
But you'll find that's too good of a job and won't match the VW paint standard lol

Thanks mate i dont know what would look worse laquer peel or new paint that wont match its annoying me looking at my bonnet but cant afford respray
-
Maybe some nail laquer on the edges will keep it peeling further.....
-
If i just spray clear laquer over the other peeled bits will that make the paint underneath shine again
-
Yes it will but you'll need to do the whole bonnet and you will see lines where it has peeled.
-
Thanks mate theres never a easy fix with paint work lol
-
No and that's why the bastards charge so much
-
Yeh bodyshops can charge for parts and then paint and materials and then labour thts why u see so many smashed in cars on the road lol

Chalkboard it, chequer it, rat it !
If its at the front will a bra cover it ?
-
A bra will cover it but ive never been into that look tbh i dont like those stiki up bits that they have at the end

Not all have them though, I don't like the pyramid magnets either !
