Serviced Mine, might do the gear oil and clean my main jets in the carb yet.
I want to get my paint work looking as good as it could be aswell whats the best way to go about that?

I'm just gonna drive mine, but watch the pot holes. Old cars really feel them, I'm glad I'm not on coilovers.

tons of pot holes have came out of no where near me!

Speaking of coilovers, I done a 3 hour motorway drive today. The car was fine but the majority of my spine is now compacted inside of my skull.

Fitted a new Alpine along with mic for Bluetooth and iPod lead in the glovebox. God bless A/C'd Mk2's and their removable gloveboxes!
Also funked around with the air install, trying to get it to look a bit better by lowering the tank further.
Oil on the way to carry out a full service this week too.

So far this wknd I've changed the oil and filter on the golf, gave it a wash and polish and the been for a 150mile drive around North devon/exmoor. Had much amounts of fun blasting the golf round the twisty roads. :smiley:

Nothing as it's still down south having its engine bay restoration. 4 weeks to go so back in time for the (hopefully) good weather.
Will just have to go thrash the 6 instead!

Brought mine out of hiding, went for a 5-6 mile drive to make sure it still worked, washed it, hoovered it, then put it back in the garage. There's too much powdery, salty, dusty stuff on the roads to undo all my good work by driving it anymore.
I'm going to try and nip over and have a look at yours soon Andy. Is it back from paint yet?

removed the rear badges and put back on correctly, it was to clean all the crap behind em.
someone who had the car before me stuck them on when they were on crack :undecided: they were all misaligned and silicone was all over the shop.
looking clean as now.

Came back from paint last weekend Simon. I was hoping to get it back on Monday as I'm in Birmingham over the weekend but the paint shop had it for 3 weeks so I'm now due to get it back on the 27th. It'll have been there pretty much a straight six months by then but I wouldn't have driven it over this horrible winter so it may as well have sat in the garage. It's at a show at the start of May so hopefully it will be looking good by then. I must say I've missed it even though it has cost a fair few pennies. In the end there was more to do than just a full engine refurb and I'm having a new clutch fitted, as well as 4 new Hella lights and other various bits. It will be a keeper after all this time and money, that's for sure!
Let me know what it looks like if you see it as James has only sent me a few piccies which are like tease shots. What you can see looks marvellous but you can't see the bigger picture.

If I've got time, I'm hoping to drop in on Wednesday. I'd like to see it as it will give me an idea of what mine will look like.
Seeing as it takes so long, I may book mine in for next winter when it would normally be off the road. Knowing it will be getting a spruce up might just mean I'll drive it more than last year.

Mine is getting new engine mounts all round today (at a garage!), if I have time I may even clean the damned thing this weekend!

Decided to fit the electric sunroof rather than just talk about it! Move switch for that and windows back into centre console and make a panel to fit them into the Votex properly. Should really get the stone chip and lacquer fixed after the farmer giles stone incident as well :sick:

I stripped the supercharger on my G for a rebuild ... still getting the train to work :laugh: Hopefully back on with new intercooler this weekend.
