Each one was a bargain, if you click on the pic it tells you about each one! Well chuffed!

Do you have seperate camera's to mount them or do you use adapter rings?
-
I use a £3 eBay adapter M42 to Alpha for all of them, and an M39 to M42 and then the M42 to Alpha for the Helios.
All are used completely manually.

You must have a lot of patience!

Oops.
Nice collection.
My first SLR was a Praktica MTL5 with 50mm Carl Zeiss lens just like that. Sold it about 8yrs ago, sometimes wish I hadn't but there we go.
The advantage of using manual lenses on a digital SLR is that you can see instantly if your manual settings were correct. If you were using film, you'd have to wait till the film was processed to find if there were any keepers.

Very true. I enjoy it manually, it makes you think about every shot, instead of firing off loads!

I try to do this even when shooting with AF.
Going with the old machine gun approach may get you plenty of shots, but it won't give you time to compose the shot and think about what you're trying to capture.
I'm currently on the hunt for something old with an f1.4 flavour

I've just bought myself an FD mount Canon 50mm f/1.4 off of ebay for £60.
You can get FD to Alpha adapters for £20.
I'm yet to test it, but the 50mm f/1.8 from my FT is really sharp.

I already have a Minolta 50mm f1.7 auto focus, which is great (better than the Sony version IMO), but I fancy a Minolta 50 or 58mm f1.4. Plenty floating about on ebay. But I also fancy a few other primes too, 24mm, 35mm, 85 or 135 too.

I have a Chinon 1.7, that is plenty wide enough for me!
Courtesy of a car boot sale yesterday I now have two of the same Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar 50mm 2.8's, so need to seel one if anyone is interested!
