Title: BF4....
Post by: Dolly on 29 March 2013, 08:12
Thought i would keep it separate from BF3 thread.

Thoughts? i think its looks immense and have pre-ordered for PC.

Some of the "hard core" PC gamers (mainly on the OC forum ) are slatting it for selling out and being too much like COD i think they just like to moan and will all end up buying it anyway.

so a question for PC'ers ... i will be looking to upgrade my graphics card to coincide with the release, ive currently got a 560ti, I will probably budget between £300 - £400 so any suggestions?

then again i might get the next Gen Xbox so i might not have £300 spare, damn decisions

Looks absolutely amazing, can't believe they're computer graphics!  I'll probably need to do some upgrading as well, think I'm running a 460GTX or something.

Ive seen something that suggests AMD is the better option, but i have no idea, i just assume the more you spend the better the graphics. I also assume the video the promo video was taken using the best computer/graphics card available.

What i do know is if you watch the video and then play it on a PS3 or a 360 your going to be dissapointed

Graphics smaphics. Who cares whether it looks better on pc/console? It's how it plays that matters! And so far the SP 17 minute  teaser looks just as boring as any other generic fps SP campaign. Heck I didn't even play the BF3 campaign.

If they fix the MP netcode, then I'm in!

First thing I do is complete the SP missions

must admit i didnt touch the one player on the PC, i did about half of it on the 360

BF is and always has been about multiplayer.

ok Chris maybe some people dont care about graphics, but i think the way it looks has a massive effect on how it plays.

And i also like player 64 player not 24 player lol

Agreed. BF1942 was awesome multiplayer, still play it with my mate when he's down from uni. It's such a classic.

Stick with PC, I don't expect much more demand on system requirements than BF3 if you can go by tinterweb blogs and press.
By all means if you struggle with BF3 now you may need/more faster ram or a beter gpu but this is £150 max....
Whats your current spec?
Hopefully it wont be as disappointing as blops2 or any of the other recent sequels that ive frittered my dosh away on.

nothing wrong with what you've specced there other than the graphics card. it's a great card but will still struggle to run all settings on high/ultra on the latest games

Can't be affording super duper graphics cards though, other hald would kill me, so I normally always go for whatever the best value for money is.  That would normally always be an nvidia card, however Custom PC are unfortunately recommended Radeons at the moment

Knock spots off my 460GTX anyway!

how about an i7?

I bought this

http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/lenovo-y580-15-6-laptop-metal-17563644-pdt.html (http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/lenovo-y580-15-6-laptop-metal-17563644-pdt.html)

as a work and play laptop, its managed so far a full system scan with Titanium, The Hobbit on Blueray on a 37 LED external monitor, transferred 25000 songs from a external HDD terrabyte, downloaded steam and played homeworld 2 with only a minor hiccup when engaging in fleet actions after a 2 hour game. not too bad and hopefully will keep up with bf4...if not i have the new PS on pre-order and the Xbox 360 slimline as a fall back option

and try PC specialists as well, goo deals with pay monthly options
