when i turn my steering wheel to full lock left or right it makes a knocking noise almost like it's hitting something is this normal. if not any ideas on what it could be. mk4 golf gti 1.8t 52 plate

Are you lowered? If so could be knocking on your ARB, if not maybe a worn bush.

not lowered(yet) an all front end bushes replace about 1 month ago plus tie rods an tie rod ends, top mounts in good condition.

how would i be able to investigate that more

inner wheel be coated in spots of black grease

does it move any further once it makes the knock? if not id say its come to tge end of its travel thats all

no when it knocks its like it hits a stop of some sort, even if it is at the end of its travel it shouldnt make a knocking noise should it? ive just been out in it and it actually seems to feel odd when if ur stopped an turn the wheel left to right quickly u can feel a slight knock an to be honest the car feel disjointed when u drive it down the road especially on the our sh!tty rough roads
