Hi, i know we cant remap the standard ecu for the gti 8v, but is it possible to run a megasquirt ecu with custom map so we can see better performance gains?
heres a link: http://www.megasquirtuk.co.uk/

Lol, I enjoy my 8V , But its maybe coz i own a VR6 too
-
lol wish i had one of those
i cant find anyone with a decent quote to do a conversion to a vr6 on my 8v,
im based in the midlands
-
be cheaper and easier to sell the 8v and buy a vr6 or 16v surely than doing the conversion? hunt for a seller that knows nothing about cars and lists as spares or repair. a small amount of work will get you a cheap un!

A standalone ecu can release more from most engines but for all that you can get more from sticking a standard ABF and ECU.

What cam did you go for in the end tweed? I'm looking at a Newman 268 as they can be had pretty cheap new.
