Can i swap my passenger front door handle for my drivers one and still use the lock, i think you have to pop out the pin and swap the levers on them, is this right?
-
Someone pass me a large hammer. Ill fix it deffa
yeh you might need to swap them over by taking the pin out
-
so it can be done then?
Will the lock have to be swapped also?
-
think your ok with th lock. undo the screw on the barrel and swap the mechanism over if needed
why u swapping?
-
Cheers,
the actual bit with the thread hole has actually snapped, so my handle is falling out :)
I have the chinese handles to fit, but these are a bugger and i need to fiddle about with them alot to get them right! And of course my central locking has packed up from the alarm! :) perfect :)
I got my C0 set right and fitted the weighted hift rod (big, big fifference)!
-
Managed to swap them over :) Bit of a bugger, battering those split pins out, but it worked :)
-
btw whats the shift rod like? is it a tight gear change?
-
It's a bit like power steering but for the gear change!
Just do it! Best thing i have done - i don't get the second gear crunch an i can select first, first time everytime now with this on, much smoother also!
-
Hey Deefa, had to ask as i had heard about the weighted shift rod.... Which one did you get? Sounds exactly what i need! Don't get me wrong my gear shift isn't bad but it just feels a bit light and as though i have to put it into each gear rather than just letting it flow..
Now i have been told that i need a special Mk2 one, someone said the Mk3 standard one will sort it...... Would it be rude to ask what part was it and where did you get it?
-
No rude at all
Part No: 1HO 711 183
Price: £12.78
Yes it does just flow better, and that part is off the MK3 - but fits perfect!
Hope that helps

Nice one! It did help and for a whole 2 minutes work and £13 + VAT my gear change just feels a bit more solid. Nice and clunky!
Thanks! J.
