Title: boot lock wont unlock

Some how over the night my boot lock has decided to stop unlocking. so now, i am unable to open my tailgate. I've tried spraying wd in there.

anyone got any other ideas? And could tell me what this is? Cheers

Hi bud,you will have to get into the boot from inside and pop the lock open with a screwdriver.You will see what looks like a V shaped catch,just move it to one side.When the boot opens remove the plastic trim inside the boot and you will be able to see the lock mechanism.They can break as they are only plastic.

How can i get to the lock from the inside dude with the boot card on?

Drop the back seats forward and the lock should be at the bottom of the boot.Or you can remove the plastic cover above which covers the lock mechanism.

Sorry bud,just remembered that the screws for the plastic boot cover are at the side of the boot and you can't access them if the boot is closed. :embarrassed:.You can always cut a hole in the plastic cover to access the locking mechanism and they try to source a replacement cover. :undecided:

All you need to do is fold the rear seats down, and look at the boot lock. once you see it you will know exactly how to open it. Very simple. You will need a torch, to make life easy.

Once you have moved the lock mechanism, with a screw driver, the boot will pop open.

yeah, dixie180 thats what i was thinking :/ just rip it off and source anothe panel. was thinking when its finally unlocked, to look into smoothing the boot handle and activate it off a soleniod and popper as this is the 3rd dub ive had where the boot lock has stopped working aha.

Good idea as there is alot of plastic inside the lock mechanism.Had the same with my Mk3 8v. :sad:

Finding an estate boot card is finding itself difficult. any know of any being broken? OR any ways of opening my boot / sorting out the lock? Cheers
