Not as bad as I thought...anyone care to explain in English this to me lol..

The airbag light, which was my main concern, as its the only warning light on the dash, it say its deactivated, how do I reactivate this? Can I do it, if I bought my own lead, or it is a VW thing again...also, the side airbag igniter, how to sort the resistance being to high?

Also the immo??(what's this) says coolant temp sensor open or short to b+ what's this??

Thanks in advance..

Warren

Airbag needs to be switched back on via VAGCOM though you will most likely need a genuine lead to do this....

Side ignitor could be a dodgy loom under the seat itself; think they are about £20

Replace your coolant temperature sensor

Door locking modules; are they playing up? Do the locks sometimes pop back up when locking or unlocking the car??

Was Khare able to clear any of the codes?? Did any come straight back?

Hi mate, one engine fault came up, and he cleared it, and it never came back up...

This lot we cleared, and it came back again, so it's a definite.

Will do a search on coolant temp sensor replacement...is it easy todo?

What was the engine fault?

Coolant sensor is a 5 minute job; just make sure the old O-ring comes out with the sensor as they tend to get stuck so you fit the new sensor with a new o-ring and your coolant pisses all over the floor......

Do it while the engine is cold by the way

Ohh, I really can't remember, voltage too low or something, I didn't get the fault code. I have ordered my own lead anyway,so I wil do a check when I get it, see if its back after the journey home, (60miles).

Quick question...my temp gauge goes up to 90/midway whilst stationary, soon as I start driving it drops steadily down to cold, heaters stay warm, Figured the thermostat needs changing, would this affect the coolant temp sensor(CTS)...if I replaced the stat, could this help the coolant sensor fault correct itself?

Or is it a case of replace CTS and the stat would in effect work again ...OR...

replace both anyway....

Thanks

Ok mate, suppose they are inexpensive enough

Make sure you buy genuine parts though, I replaced my thermostat with one from Euro Car Parts and it lasted 2 weeks!

Hi all,

will i have to replace all those door module to clear the faults, or would it just be one causing the others to malfunction?

You can try and repair them yourself but most people have mixed results  :undecided:

Yup unless you got a different problem with them lol

Well.......I USED to be good at soldering....in school...

Last thing I soldered was a resistor pack my my old rover 200...it worked!!

I'll have a look this weekend...
Been looking on ebay, and there's a few on there...not sure on part numbers, so I'll have to remove the door cards and hopefully I'll get them, I need to do something with the rear drivers-side window anyway, so I think that'll be my 1st job lol

I wouldnt advise buying 2nd hand door modules; you'll never know how long they will last.......

implausible signal doesn't always mean the part is faulty, just that it's telling the convenience module that it's seeing something outside of it's programmed parameters. the CCM measuring blocks in vagcom are very useful when trying to figure out things like this

That's interesting to know, how do I find out the range of parameters of a certain thing?

in the central locking section on VAGCOM...it comes up the the Vag Number, Component, Soft. Coding, Shop# and 2 boxes for Extra,

In these boxes i have
1J2959802C 16 Torsteuerger FS0001
1J2959801D 16 Torsteuerger BF0001
1J4959811C 16 Torsteuerger HL0001
1J4959812C 16 Torsteuerger HR0001

Any ideas what the 'extras' are??
