Gonna need some welding on my sills I discovered today , I don't want to patch them up so looking for the whole sill to be replaced on both sides, found the panels for £13.64 each and been quoted £150 to weld them in.....does this sound a fair price? I will have to paint them myself after they are welded in.
-
Is that for both of the sills?
-
150 is for both sills welded in, 13.64 is each sill
-
Thats a good price, I hope there is enough floor/inner sill left to stitch the bottom in properly....mine needed half a floor pan :lipsrsealed:
-
tbh 150 for both sides is a very good price, just make sure that includes the basics... like acid primer being applied to it... in this weather with the salt (that the idiots put on the road for a tiny amount of snow...) it would otherwise be covered in rust by the time you get home.
-
Have a look at my build thread to see how much work is involved in changing the sills, £150 sounds like a good price,
-
It won't be getting done till August but yeah fingers crossed the floors not shot!
-
I thort my floor was solid untill I started digging, but it wasn't too bad only a couple patches on the front jacking points
-
where did u get the sills from mate?
-
Got mine from Cleveland pannels
-
I very much doubt that will be a proper job. :undecided:
I wouldn't replace the whole sill, as most garages just weld the panel over the top leaving it to rust through from behind.
It would take a lot of time to do it properly, all rust would need cutting out. £150 sounds like a skin and fill job to me.
-
It won't be it'll be a proper job, it's a mate who will do it and he is very good
-
Thats what I paid (£150) to have my sills done and that was a very good job. No paint though, had to do that myself.
That price for the sills is very cheap! I paid about £36 each.
