Title: HELP! my golf on BBS LM REPS hitting coilovers!
Post by: kane_turbo on 22 March 2013, 21:05
right i stayed late at work tonight finally got all coilovers on my car. but i started off with them as low as theyll go. lowered the jack on the 4 post ramp. bang! cant move, wheels hitting my coilovers, and arches sat on my wheels at front. so now i know i need some spacers. maybe 10mm? now the wheels are et35 i think at 8.5j wide. with a 235/35/19. now im dying to get to gti fest but i have to be happy with how the car sits ect. now do i sell these wheels and buy some diffrent ones? or can i manage with these?

any help would be great.

wheels should be fine
would say you need to space them out for sure... 10mm should be fine and also wind the coilovers back up to a suitable hight....   but spose that comes without sayin

To be honest you're going to struggle to get low on 19's anyway, let alone with 235's fitted.

You'll need at least a 5mm spacer to clear the coilovers, this will bring you down to et30 which will obviously bring the tyre closer to the arch. If you want to be really low to clear the arch you'll either need narrower tyres or to roll the arches (or both).
