Title: key transponder question

hey guys, i only have one key for my car and the central locking fob, but i have an after market cobra alarm and immobiliser fitted. will i still need to get a new key with the transponder reprogrammed or not?

Have you contacted both VW & Cobra dealers for advice?

If you want a spare key then yes you will need one with a transponder in it. Your local Timpsons can programme keys. They can't programme the central locking fobs though, this can only be done with Vagcom.

Half right.... yes any key cutters can do you a spare key.


No mk3 alarm systems cannot be accessed though vagcom, you will need a Cobra dealer alarm specilist to code a fob.
