Very illegal on an E reg car,  you can legally have them on a car pre 73 (I think). I've got black and silver on my camper and there's sod all they can do about it.

i recently bought a 91 oak green 8 valve off my mate who brought it back from guernsey where he worked for a year. even though i did register it in england i still kept the black and silver plates on it. that was about three months ago!! police have noticed them, but haven't pulled me over! are these okay to leave on as the car was registered in guernsey? i'll keep 'em on til i get told/ordered otherwise!! what do you guys reckon??!

If it's a UK registered car then they would be illegal.

Ive been pulled over plates many a time (didnt have a front numberplate for a few months)

You get a £30 fine per plate thats incorrect, However if you have two incorrect plates its a repeat offence and can land you in court  The police never really bother tho, Ive been fined before but only because i was at a cruise so it was my fault for putting my self in risk anyway.
