Title: HELP. Car revving in neutral randomly
Post by: KennyGTI on 17 March 2013, 19:21
Took my car out today to the shops. When getting into a car space I put the car into neutral and the revs started going up to 1400 rpm then dropping off to 900 rpm. Car would then feel if it was about to stall and run really rough before going back to 1400 rpm. Took it up the bypass and car felt fine boosting etc but maybe just not quite as quick as usual.
Once back home the revs were still doing the same then the engine management light came on.

What are people's thoughts? Anyone experienced this or heard of it.

Maybe the PCV valve? When I take out my dip stick I can feel a vacuum when I put my finger over it.

I know

Sounds like I need to replace this PCV Valve. Going to order an upgraded one, no point putting in an OEM one again.

BSH do one or Forge Catch Can.
