hi guys bought my second 1.8t about a months ago its a 2000 agu.
the guy I bought it from had the car for 3 years full dealer history 2 owners before him so anyway.
over the last couple of weeks I have bought forge 007p and spring kit, newsouth boost gauge, piller pod miltek system +decat.
today I fitted the forge dv with the green spring , and my newsouth gauge. upon startup the gauge reads 20 vac my last 1.8t sat at 24 is this ok at 20??
but the biggest surprise was when I took it out for a spin it boosts and holds at 18psi does this sound like its been mapped??? I have changed the dv spring to the yellow now just in case
the car does pull really well but don't seem as powerful as my old 1.8t
so guys do you think she has been mapped???? or could there be a fault with the gauge or something like that.
if it has been mapped saves me some money for other mods
also miltek not fitted yet!

Stock pressure is not 18psi. Mine is stage 1 mapped and holds around 12- 14psi if yours 18psi then the car would be rapid!

I know stock is around 6/7psi as my old 1.8t before a map was like this but after a remap she held around 18psi

Waste gate tampered with??

Waste gate tampered with??
could it just have been mapped??? does 18psi seem high ?? my last 1.8t after a remap held 18psi peak just like this one
-
Sounds mapped to me.
If it pins you in seat to near redline.....chances are its mapped.

UPDATE!!! after going out again on a open road the boost peaks at 18psi and holds at 15/16psi sound rite for a remap??

Yep, about the same as my 1.8t Octavia vRS

the only true way to find out would be to put it on a set of rollers
-
Mine runs 7psi witch is 0.5bar as mine standerd at the min
-
Mines pants, not mapped and it seems to die around the limiter something which annoys me when overtaking!
-
That's y you don't redline it try and keep it at top boost even thought boost on standerd is sh!t
-
I know mate that's what I do now. Never really redlined it before as the missus is always in the car. Just had a bit of fun with a chav in a corsa and thought "Jesus this is pants at the limiter so quick change and where was that corsa? Oh behind me!" Still needs mapping for sure though :)
