So I've had the mk6 for 2 weeks and was itching for bluefin after having it a few years back in my scirocco and now it's uploaded...
It has transformed the car mostly past 5k rpm in my opinion when it gives you a big kick in the seat, and the car doesn't want to change down as much.
Mine although is a little hesitant under first prod of the accelerator like an almost split second between using the juice foot and the car actually going... (Anyone else had this)
Maybe bluefin/Ecu is learning my driving style?? I will monitor this tho..
Waiting for dry roads so I can use the extra POWER now!!

Have fun
Don't think many on here got a bluefin to answer your question

I had Bluefin installed on a previous car (Altea 2.0 TDi) and Superchips have quoted me £150 to re-program it for the GTi, which I've only had 3 months.
Is there little difference below 5k? On my Altea you only noticed a difference from 2k upwards, when the turbo kicks in.

The throttle pedal lag is more pronounced on a remapped car as the turbo spools harder sooner in the rev range. Easily cured by spending even more money on a Sprint Booster or the like.

The TDI really spools the turbo hard from very low revs but the petrol engines are more progressive. If you ease the pedal down gradually to let the turbo spool smoothly the mid range grunt is lots more urgent than the standard car (which is rubbish) without being frantic like some remaps I've experienced. Some days you think it's a bit tame and other days you realise that the balance is about right between traction and a smooth progressive delivery.

Don't get me wrong the car pulls very well from 2k also a lot lot better than standard.. For £150 VWNOS I'd snap their arm off, you will not be disappointed!!

If you're suffering a bit of hesitation ask superchips to make sure they've sent you the correct map for a dsg car. From reading various forums they have occassionally sent out a manual map for a dsg car and vice-versa and hesitation seems to be the result. If they have sent you the wrong map they will replace it free of charge straightaway.

When I had mine fitted, they sent me the wrong map and sent me manual instead. There was quite big a flat spot. I called them, they sent me a file and BOOM! The car was transformed.

Was the flat spot at high revs in 3rd, 4th and 5th gears, like the car was not getting enough fuel so it wasn't pulling as hard as you expected, or was it a lower revs? Thanks.

It was most noticable in those gears yes. The flat spot was about 3k rpm then went once out of it. It didnt feel like fuel starvation more like a proper flat spot.
The car was transformed once i had the correct map.

Try turning off the traction control , along with using Sport or manual, and see if it improves response

I don't know anything about bluefin but must admit it sounds great
I've always had re-maps in the past but I am very tempted by the plug and play idea.
How much does bluefin cost and where is the best place to get one from?
What are the pros and cons for bluefin v a remap?

Bluefinned my car when it was about 700 miles old and really rate it. Car now has 9500 miles on it and its much nicer to drive with the remap.
I also asked them to tweak my map which they did.
They're about £350 from demon Tweeks and often come with a free k&n air filter or a money off voucher I you buy via demon Tweeks on eBay.
