Title: Water pump question
Post by: AndyG on 16 March 2013, 17:09
Just a bit of advice really. Not our GTI but our other golf it's a mk6 1.4.Anyway I've noticed a bit of fluid on the driveway but can't see any obvious leaks although the coolant water was below the low level.Ive noticed that on here the water pump is often mentioned. What goes wrong with them do they seize up or do they just leak?

When mine started to go the only thing I noticed was a small pool of coolant on the garage floor, no obvious signs of we're it was leaking from

If you have had all your servicing done at the dealers, they may do it on a goodwill basis as it is a known fault, all depends on the dealers

The main dealer does all work on both our cars so I will try.

In that case I would really push for them to do under goodwill/warranty
