Title: Lots of engine noise in cabin. Abf mk2
Post by: weazgti on 14 March 2013, 21:43
The most annoying thing with my golf mk2 since putting the abf in is the amount of noise in the cabin when accelerating. Cruising its fine and feels quite nice but 1st and 2nd gear all I can hear is the engine as if its sat right next to me.
I have the under bonnet sound deadening which made as good as no difference whatsoever.
I ve never been in a mk3 abf so can't really tell if they are noisy standard or not but then I suppose the mk3 would have a lot more sound deadening.
Anyone else been bothered by this?

Hi mate, I would say my Mk3 ABF which has a aftermarket exhaust manifold is ridiculously loud in the cabin so much so I'm considering putting the standard manifold back on!

I suppose this coupled with the older shell (probably a lot less sound deadening) of a mk2 would make it quite loud!
