Took around 30 mins start my car this morning. Then soon as u got to drive it it splutters, misses then the revs drop off.. if u dont rev f**k out of it then it cuts out. I found putting a sock over my induction kit helped a little bit. Managed to get me home keepin it over 3000rpm. Any ideas that this could be? Fuel light keeps coming in too but theres nearly halfa tank in which i put in yesterday.
Please help as i need my car for work

plug it in and scan for codes
i know f**k all about cars but if it was me i will be looking at the starter motor. Someone im sure can correct me if im wrong.

AND SHOUTING WONT GET YOU A REPLY ANY QUICKER!!!!

what electricals you running?
-
The starter motor wont affect it once its running. You need to get diagonsitcs on it otherwise its just a guess, my guess would be injectors or maf.
For the moment, try unplugging the maf and seeing if that makes a difference

Sounds like fuel related bud. As said scan it for faul codes. Or if you have induction kit which is them ones sit beind the front bumper you may have saoked up watee through the engine :lipsrsealed:
Get standard airbox back on. What engine code is it?

If it sucked up some water it would have done in the valves, trust me I have done it.
Check the MAF first thats where my money is and its a 2 second trial

Right, inplugged the maf and it ticks over and runs... little bit lumpym but driveable. Is my maf f**ked then?

You can try cleaning it with some brake cleaner but it a temp solution...just get a new one, dont get the cheap ones either they dont last.

It's worth getting one from VW though, I got a Bosch one from GSF and it lasted less than a year.

They should only be £100 if exchanging with the old unit from VW
Got one from ECP a Bosch and it faired slightly better, got two years before odd boosting and over reading
