As above what cat is best to use with a ss exhaust system and a ss manifold, a oem steel cat or a ss decat?
-
Something that's legal. .....

this is an impossible answer... I prefer to keep the o.e cat but others will say de-cat or sports cat's are better
removal of the cat does make a difference in noise and may give a few more horses. But I have found it also moves the power a bit higher up (and can affect torque output due to less back pressure), sports cat's are possibly best alround but for there cost, there an expensive mod for little gain!

What makes you want a stainless manifold, the standard one is not that restrictive, given the choice I would run a standard manifold and cat then a decent system (Jetex is a good choice)

I'm lookin at a ss manifold as mine sounds like it cracked and also the heat shield noise is starting to annoy me
this any good?

Read it properly mate....

Removing the CAT will make no difference in HP (will increase noise) the same as fitting a sports CAT as the
standard CAT is not restrictive on a standard 16v
-
i think you should go for a ss decat, more noise and backfires!
-
Agreed, SS would be the better bet. Just remember fitting it will not give u better performance just a louder
noise

noise  going to decat mine this week too. it's far too quiet atm
