which splitter should i buy...
ive shattered 2 jom ones now and dealer is asking for nearly £100 for 2 bits of plastic, lmao.

i spoke to volksbits about getting another jom but theyve sold out and are saying jom havent got any them selfs? bit weird if u ask me

i got mine from crash repair parts through work they just class it as gti spoiler not vr6 they sell at 8.26 per side so 16.52 they are flexible abs so wont shatter like the jom ones do and come with 12 month warranty aswell

Got one of these on mine atm...fits well and seems pretty tough so far.

I have bought a VR6 splitter for my VR6 (My car came with a GTI splitter??) and it is proving a real sh~t to put on, so much that I have left it until tomorrow then give it another try.

You'll probably find that the sides won't stay in right so the cheap solution is to squirt some silicone sealent into the gap and clamp it to allow it to go off, should hold it better.
The real cheap splitters dont fit right and are too brittle. Im just about to fit my third set soon as they break so easy.

The Eurowagen ones (or anyplace else that sells the ones made by Retov) are the only aftermarket ones that last a good while, but while flexible, they still break eventually. Mine is holding up fine but that's cos I'm not too low. It scrapes on speedbumps etc which it will handle, but they will shatter with any major impact!

Retov are Argentinian and a pita to deal with, if anyone knows where they are moulded in europe I can spec and supply material that will not break, even possible to do colours.
I am after a new one as I cracked the OE part the other week grrrr

Just bite the bullet and get one from dealer. I had a cheap one and it smash within an hour. Genuine one still goin strong.

You are right but there is no other reason than greed as to why the feckers break so easily, the right material is only £5 per kg.
The ones you buy off the net are just floor sweepings and regrind with extra black masterbatch, VW ones are just virgin material with an ISO qms system in place.

front splitter (deep style) 1H6805903A & 1H6805904A (left and right sides)
They are about £40-45 a side though!!

Cheapo ebay one lasted a few days..same with a GSF one which wasn't cheap.... Eurowagens one is doing well and only £17.... to be fair the first one went when i was driving like a tw*t and stones in the road claimed the second one...EW one seems to cope better and it feels heavier and certainly fits well.

cheers for all the info guys.im still waiting to fit mine as its built up ice and still snow on roads in my area,plus where i work atm i cnt get into ind est with it on lol....i bought the retov from eurowagens,previously i had the better of the 2 jom ones.i cant justify spending £100 on real one......its only 2 bits of plastic for gods sake.
i hope the retov lasts but if not im searching at scrap yard. :)

Mine has never let me down. Just dont lower your car right to the ground and drive 100mph over speed
bumps and you will be fine. Taking care is the key!

I bought an OEM one in January for my Anniversary as the O/S one was cracked
VW were only showing 1 N/S and 3 O/S splitters in stock, as its been internet folklore for a few years that they are obsolete, i fear that i have got the last complete splitter on my car.

tps have told me they are showing several of each in stock... retail is £40 odd + vat a side though

my eurowagen ( retov ) splitter is looking the best ive ever had.it joins nicely in the middle and fits tight and flush all round....its a thumbs up from me for RETOV vr6 splitters.:)

the best one in my opinion. Felt a lot more flexible than my original one. Stayed on well. Took a beating and never gave up!
