I've had a search and my issue doesn't seem to have come up, only ones i can find are about faulty pumps or broken lock paddles. My issue is that when my central locking pump is plugged in, when i put my key in to lock/unlock the car there is a lot of resistance when turning the key, it feels like the pump is pushing back against me. Usually it doesn't work on the first turn and I've gotta turn it back and forth a few times to finally lock/unlock. Does this on both driver and passenger side iirc (had the pump unplugged for a few weeks while i've been fixing other things) so this makes me think its not the common broken paddle problem as the car does lock/unlock after a few turns. I also got hold of a spare central locking pump that was working fine and yet in my car still does it.
I was told to look for breaks in the wiring, although i haven't had a proper look i pulled the connecter between the outside of the door and the car off and their were a few wires with broken insulation, but as far as i could tell no actual broken wires. Need to have a further look in the door itself and on passenger side. But if it all looks fine is there anywhere else i need to look or any other problems it could be?

check for broken wires, could also be a switch issue...

Is there anywhere specific to check for breaks? Don't fancy having to check all the wires that go around the dash and go all the way to the back to the pump.
Think I've got a spare switch so will try that aswell later.
Thank you
