Title: Which cylinder is number 1 - 1.8t 20v

Sorry for the question coming from french cars clyinder number 1 is flywheel but I just want to make sure that cylinder 1 on the 1.8t 20v engine is water pump end.

Confirmation required.

think it goes from 1-4 ns - os while looking the way the car is facing, however sure someone will confirm soon.

Cylinders are almost invariably numbered from the front of the engine. The front is the crank pully end (all the belts).

It's only the French that number backwards.
