As already said, you'll need adaptors to fit them. BMW are 5x120 and the MK4 is 5x100, you'll need the narrowest adaptors that you can find which will be around 15-20mm.

Then it depends on the offset and width of the wheels. I'd guess you'll struggle to fit them without stretch and arch work (depending on how low you are).

Post up:

-Width
-Offset
- How low you are

I have 19" rs8 fitted no scrubbing problems.(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v283/supramad77/D8332729-D287-42E1-BF3D-9D0F4A3EDB65-6103-00000A9D862F5613.jpg)

They look quite smart! Thank The Lord for the golf mk4 arches being able to take nice big shiny wheels haha

What profile tyres on the 19s?

Think they are 35 can't remember. Wheels are 19/8 with 235/ rubber.

But that is irrelevant unless they're 9J and lower than et30 - which I doubt.

Yea no idea of offset, pretty sure they are 8j but he asked if anyone fitted 19"s i have although tbf they were on the car already but i guess they would cost a fair bit new.
These are a common wheel on the golf i guess the bmw wheels are incorrect offset?

Not going to be easy to get them fitted and looking right, 235 tyres will be very tight for clearance.

I had X5's on my Mk4 had 20mm adaptors on back 25mm on front if I remember and a lot of stretch  They looked great I have been looking for a cheap set for the wifes beetle. The 20mm adaptors are not easy to get either

The 20mm adapters dnt come round too often , at the mo it's just an idea I'm playing with , as I do think the golfs look well smart with some nice big rims on and dropped !!
