Never had to really do this before in the whole 4 years of driving lol! Always got someone ele to get it done for me and I just pay them!

calipers should be good for life, obviously pads need changing when they get low but no need to change the disks unless they're warped or scored.

greenstuff pads are about 50 quid for the front set, a little cheaper for the rears.

have a look here http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=18283.0 to see how to get a 15% discount on pads thanks to www.brakes4u.co.uk

brembo only make calipers and disks, the brembo big brake kits usually come with mintex or pagid pads but greenstuff are generally recommended because you get less brake dust all over your wheels.

edit: found some brembo pads on the net, but no prices :undecided:  ... i'd still recommend greenstuff though.
