im looking at buying some corbeau bucket seats and stripping the back of my golf out/possibly a 1/2 cage too. but i want to retain the up and down and forward and back motion of front seats. is there anyone who has fitted corbeau buckets to stock subframes? as after buying the seats and postage costs plus buying the subframes it no longer makes them cheap seats. i am fairly handy with a welder and angle grinder ect as i have the whole garage at my disposal. :D

I have just tried doin this with my buckets (in my build thread )
And I found it made the seat so very far back and leant back quite a bit :undecided:

im 6 foot 2. obviously i would still make it so it can slide back and forth. the seats i may be getting are recling too if that makes a diffrence?

Hmm I'm similar size but have the problem of the roll cage so with them leaning back it was touching the cage.
I also found the original seat mounts to be quite flexible and seem week as I think the standard seat sit in the rails rather then on them.
All you can do is have the seats out get the rails and see what you can do but I think you would w better buying the proper subframes if all the interior is still in place and you want it safe.

If your stripping most of the stuff out, might be better to do it all properly.
Position your seat exactly where you want it and makes sure it won't be going anywhere :afro:
