Title: Jacking an ABF engine
Post by: MereKat on 10 March 2013, 13:10
How high can you safely jack the ABF up? I need to get a starter motor in and the bottom bolt wont line up. I need a fair bit of space to get it in, but the space just isn't there! Last resort before scraping it is to lift the engine, but how high can it go before damaging anything?

I've never had any trouble when jacking it up to change front mount. Just make sure you use a block of wood or cardboard to cushion between jack and engine/gearbox.

When the car starts to lift you've gone too far  It will only move so much, you may need to loosen the rear mount though
