I have removed the plastic sill trim off my MK 3 GTI, low and behold tin worms have eaten the nearside sill from the front wheel arch to the middle of the door.
Does anybody know what I can expect to pay somebody for welding on a new sill?
Thanks

Somewere about 60-100 depends on the type of job thats done realy then plus parts
-
I have the sills, I know somebody who gets good discount on all parts, so only £16 per sill, I need to find somebody in the merseyside area who has a welder and can use it.
-
Where you get the sills from mate?
-
My cousin works for a VW dealership  she got me them from work.
-
Naaa. How much? I think you will get people asking you to get some
Also aint they obsolete?
-
I asked for them today and I can collect on Thursday, I don't know if they are genuine parts or pattern. Either way the trim is staying off and the rest of the car is getting stripped out as it will only be used as a track weapon.
MOT only for purposes of track use, MSV insist on one, so sills need doing.
I have asked for a cambelt kit too, off the dealer with tensioner and belt £36.. but don't tell anybody as I can't get them to sell on.

Lols that cheap.
Does your cuz work for vw? How much per side for sill
-
Yes a VW dealership. I paid £16 per sill
-
Bloody bargin. I know they cost more
-
You can get a pattern Timing Belt kit at Carparts4less 4 less................. than £25.
I paid about £35 less discount for a Contitech kit from ECP last year, so thats not all that cheap tbh. Think the sills retail at about £40 per side side though, so thats good.

Do you get a water pump in that kit?
