 :cry: hello everyone i have a mk4 golf gti 2.0 on a V reg

my car is using alot of water and there is cream on the oil cap which would indicate that the head gasket has gone but.... the car aint overheating or anything like that it gets up to 90 and stays there and doest go over that and the car still pulls strong ??

i will be getting it looked at possibley monday all being well !!

is there any how-too's on here ?

the 2.0 is known for drinking water an oil like petrol but clean the cap see if it comes back as short journeys can do this  :smiley:

i have done , ill re fill oil and water and go on a good run and see what happens  :sad:

if the cream is still there then in guessing its head gasket ?

expensive ?

then there is the cost of the head being skimmed an pressure tested,but if you think you can do it best of luck  :smiley:

is midlands vw not near you as they have a good rep  :smiley:
