i have a 1996 8v anniversary just wondered how many were made???.also did the 8 valves come with concept wheels(15" rims)as standard.if they come with 16" BBS does anybody know were i can get some ??????.

There was 650 8v models imported into the UK and 150 16v models imported. So yeah the MK3 8v Anniversary is quite rare, but not as rare as the 16v.
The anniversary models all came with 16" BBS split rims, they are similar to the BBS RX2's but they are 7" wide instead of 6.5" on the RX2's. I hope somebody hasn't taken these of your car and put the concept wheels on.

I hope you haven't bought the Anniversary without BBS wheels... It's the best thing about it!
When I was looking for a GTI I saw quite a few advertised and 3 out of the 10 or so cars I saw were Anniversaries. If you are planning to buy one, make sure you know what it comes with. Some people have posted details on this, but there are websites that do write ups and show pictures etc.
Don't pay a big premium for it either. It's not worth a lot more than the standard GTI.

This is the original Anniversary GTI web site
I've neglected it over the last 2 years but there's still oodles of info that still applies.

For tyres, try Toyo Proxes - www.mytyres.net usually have a good deal on them in Anni size.
First thing to check for rattly doors is to make sure the locking pin ie the bit that goes up and down when you lock the car, is tight- they make a lot of noise when loose! If it's not that, does the position of the window make a difference?
BTW, Hi to all, thought I'd join up here as the forum I usually use is down!!
