I`v just changed top mounts and bearing hoping to have relieved the squeaking noise but it seems to have done nothing, when on the ground turning from left to right its squeaks like hell sort of like a steel against rubber,I tightened the last special nut with an air gun because my box spanner would not fit in between the mount and the nut so I`m thinking that it is not tight enough causing the bottom plate to squeak against the bottom of the mount,I don`t know..... any thoughts?

squeeks can be from anywhere and cheap suspension also seems to make lots of noise. time to check everything and see if you can locate the area
on my old mk3 it turns out the hub had failed creating a noticable squeek! (and that took some finding!)

Turns out it is a tie rod balljoint and took some time to find

look on the bright side..... there one of the easier and cheaper fix than most other possible squeeky things
