Haven't seen it but from the ad it's standard other than being lowered. No idea how. 177k miles. No MOT or tax. Runs perfect apparently. P reg so hopefully late spec brakes etc.
Up for £350 hasn't sold in a while. Will offer £200 then go £250.
Question is, can I make my money back if I have the engine? 5 door dragon green.......
Not every penny but I'd like it to have stood me £150-£200.
Want a VR6 but this is just down the road and desperate for my MK3 to have a come back!
-
Do it, £200 is easily recuperated once its been molested and weighed in.
-
I suppose window regulators etc would be worth a bit along with central locking etc. Then it's scrap the shell time.
Brakes are probably worth something to a MK2 owner I suppose.
Gotta be worth a shot!
Parents will kill!
-
worthwhile for £250 as the motor and gearbox (if running good) will sell to the mk2 boy's (£150-250)...
I might be interested in calipers all round for a good price  (there no good for mk2's)
I will say a lot of mk3 parts are very cheap now (due to the significant mk3's being scrapped over the past year or two) but there should be a few hundred in your market them right
so i say upto £450 for the lot (maybe even £500 with trim and wheels)

Theres a MK3 16V on ebay atm, Its all running order and has leather interior too. Going for £290, Spares & repairs as its needs welding and its a 97 Reg too.
-
The miles will put a lot of people off tbh.

yeah but how many engines on ebay do you see stating the mileage (or even close to what the mileage will be... when i looked there can't be that many 50-60000 miler abf's around )
my ad would be
2.0 16v abf ideal for mk2 conversion, starts and runs fine etc
-
I'll probs keep the running gear TBH.
Hopefully the doors, brakes etc will fetch some money back and then weigh the shell in. Probably get rid of the cat for £40 at my local scrappies too.
Cheers, I need to find time to go look but if I can get him down to £200 then I'll probably do it.

If it's 288mm front brakes I'll take the carriers and calipers
-
Easy treble money if you know what you're doing....

true my mate bought a MK2 16V GTI, for £200 with a blown engine. I mean blown. It had a big hole in the block. And he broke it for parts and made £1200 apparantly, well that's what he says.
He got lucky coz the car had Kent cams, which he sold alone for £250. The funny thing was he didn't even know they were there. And the seller didn't know either lol.

Will be 288mm on a P AFAIK.
I think I'll be getting my 6th MK3 soon.

Put it all in a mk2, you've had 5 tugboats now have a go cart,
And 288 brakes do fit on a mk2 if you're running wide track, the smart way to go,
Personally mileage doesn't put me off at all, my abf has 156k on it an is a charm however I wouldn't be buying just the engine at that mileage that would concern me as I couldn't see it running
You have to do this right tho, I've still got doors, bonnet and boot left over from mine with all their trim and electrics loads of messers out there who pm you and then never turn up to collect

 I was hoping for that reaction lmao
All seriousness tho, I do miss my mk3 it felt a lot more solid and refined
Do miss it untill I get the mk2 on B roads
